The only thing holding it back is its sagging musical score, but that can in no way take away from this magical work of cinema. Arrival is one of the greatest works of cinema of the 21st century so far.
4. “The 5th Wave”
Personally, I loved the movie. Just finished reading the first book which made me want to rewatch the movie and I think it’s great. The book is definitely a little slow and the flashback technique of writing is my favourite.
Anyway, this isn’t a review of the book, but the movie. In my opinion, the movie is actually really close to the book which is a bonus for the book enthusiasts. The movie itself was so entertaining. It had action, intense situations, and emotional scenes, and unlike the book, I actually cared about the scenes that didn’t involve Cassie.
The only thing I’d change about it is to expand more on Evan and Cassie’s relationship. The movie Deco skims over it very quickly, even though in the book they spend a few weeks together where they develop their connection.
5. “Creed”
There is no doubt that Creed is a passionate love letter to the original 1976 film, which in itself is a poetic love story about fighting the good fight.

A very interesting plot and since it is from a novel I understand the plot twists and the pace that it travels and takes you along. Chris Pine and Thandwe Newton were brilliant and the chemistry sure played a major role, unlike many recent movies where romantic scenes were dull and very cliche. A novel turning into a movie is always fulfilling as unlike movie scripts, hardly any loose ends could be found in novels. That way this is a wholesome movie and everyone did a good job.
7. “Fences”
This movie was amazing. There’s so much to be said about it that I don’t even know what to say. High quality and naturalistic acting (as expected from this cast), relatable characters, and story (most of us have either been through the experience of one of the characters or have known someone who has). I have waited years to watch this film- since the time it came out – because I have been a huge fan and admirer of Denzel Washington since I was a youth, and it was worth it. I wish this review could encapsulate the feelings I have for this work, but I can still only conclude with how fantastic it was.

It’s really good to see Sylvester Stallone back on screen after a few years’ gap. Perhaps, he is still the fittest senior most actors in Hollywood even at 76.
Samaritan is all about a troublesome kid who frequently gets teased and beaten up by some street boys, messes up around people, and knows too much about the secrets of the Samaritan. Aged and oldie Joe Smith lives a normal life trying to stay out of trouble until he meets the kid and is revealed to be the old and undead Samaritan, the brother of evil Nemesis.
Emotional bonding between the kid and the old Samaritan flows at a slow pace in the first half, however, it gets gritty only when the crime goons learn about the existence of Samaritan. They plan to destroy the city and create chaos among the rebellious middle-class people.
Stallone looks still fresh and confident at 76 and that’s the best part of the movie. His hardcore fans won’t be disappointed. The 13-year-old Sam’s role by Javon Walton is convincing and cheerful but also annoying whenever he asks questions to Joe out of his curiosity. Johanne Philip’s role of antagonist Cyrus is nothing new than a typical villain who wishes to create a ruckus all around.
